PRS are now in need of a Handyperson undertake planned preventive maintenance, reactive repairs to plant and equipment along with supporting the day-to-day operations of M&E services across in Street, Somerset
Job Purpose:
To ensure the successful day-to-day delivery of routine planned and reactive fabric maintenance tasks. This may include the co-ordination of specialist sub-contractors and liaison with the on-site management team.
To look out for the best interests of the client customers with great customer service and a pro-active approach to maintaining the best possible facilities environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. To maintain and improve efficiently with the minimum of supervision new and existing building fabric installations to specified standards as determined by the company and client.
2. To work in a pro-active manner at all times and identify building fabric tasks which require attention before an issue occurs.
3. To help devise routine inspections specific to the client sites which will enhance the pro-active maintenance approach to the building fabric.
4. Typical tasks include:
5. General carpentry maintenance.
6. Roof inspections & maintenance (gutter clearing etc).
7. Repairs to locks/windows.
8. Installation of fixtures, fittings, shelving etc.
9. Jet-washing
10. Minor plumbing repairs – clearing blocked urinals, hand basins and WCs.
11. Minor repairs/adjustments to flooring.
12. Minor building repairs.
13. Painting, touch-up and repairs to decoration.
14. Patch repairs to plastering.
15. Office moves where desks & furniture need to be assembled etc.
16. Ensure all work activities are in compliance with Company Safety Policy, Procedures, relevant Codes of Practice and Statutory Regulations To maintain and improve standards of quality, health, safety and environment, good housekeeping and to report any short comings and issues promptly.
17. To plan, co-ordinate and execute small works projects using sub-contractor support where necessary. Assist with preparation of quotations for additional works as required.
18. To be flexible enough to undertake duties to accommodate operational requirements including participation in overtime whenever possible.
19. To prepare materials lists and plan work activities.
20. Train and assist, as directed, other Technicians and colleagues.
21. Participate as required in emergency response teams as required.
22. To understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
23. To attend and fully participate in training and weekly team meeting activities as required. To work as part of the wider M&E maintenance team when required.
24. To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
25. To attend meetings as required.
Experience: (Essential)
26. Thorough knowledge of commercial building fabric and installation work activities. Working to Planned Preventative Maintenance Regimes.
27. Knowledge of lone working requirements
28. Working to health & safety processes
Character:
29. Able to work under pressure.
30. Able to make sound decisions when needed.
31. Physically fit and able to carry tools and components by hand up to the current manual handling regs.
32. Able to ascend / descend vertical access equipment.
33. Able to work at height.
34. Work on own initiative.
35. Flexible regarding working hours,
36. Willing to undertake overtime if offered.
