Gen 2 is currently recruiting an Education Quality Assurance Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our business here in Cumbria in this permanent role. The Gen2 Education Quality Assurance Manager will support the Head of Quality and Curriculum by ensuring high quality delivery in line with the current Ofsted framework and lead the Quality Assurance (QA) process across all funded and commercial activity. You will also work closely with another Quality Manager, who will focus on Quality Improvement activities. Quality Assurance Manager will also lead a small team, so we are looking for a candidate with good people management skills. We are also looking for a candidate with the knowledge of one of the following specialisms: professional services, mechanical, electrical & nuclear or civil & construction. We would like a successful applicant to be a Qualified IQA with a solid experience in educational quality environment and in working with apprenticeship standards. Gen2 was established in 2000 and specialises in the Engineering, Nuclear, and Manufacturing sectors. In May 2017 Gen2 joined City & Guilds and became a City & Guilds business. Gen2 is based in a picturesque Cumbria and has been recently awarded Ofsted Good in all areas. About the role What you will be doing: Manage the Quality Assurance of all Gen2 programmes through a team of Lead IQA’s. Maintain a strong understanding of apprenticeship provision and EPA in relation to the funding rules and Ofsted quality requirements. Implement, monitor and report on a robust QA process across the learner journey for apprenticeship provision to meet the current FE Ofsted framework requirements. Drive CPD in line with identified current areas for improvement. Manage and deliver staff development ie: qualifications Manage the standardisation process across all provision areas to ensure high quality of delivery by Lead IQA support Contribute to quality aspects of business planning and performance monitoring processes, where appropriate. Provide regular reports that are effective and accessible to ensure quality information and data is relevant, accurate, and sufficient and presented to aid decision making processes. Lead the review of quality assurance data e.g., timely completion, readiness for EPA, resubmissions, learner feedback, reviews etc and work with Operations to ensure action plans are in place, relating to areas of underperformance. Provide advice and guidance on quality issues in relation to activities to ensure that curriculum developments and learner experience are at the forefront of good practice. Support and guide the Quality Team to deliver timely and consistent QA in relation to all programmes delivered at Gen2. Contribute to the learner voice strategy including learner feedback mechanisms and support implementation of recommendations and potential actions identified. Work collaboratively with the Quality Manager responsible for curriculum Self-Assessment Reporting (SAR) and drive Quality Improvement Plan (QIPs). Oversee Awarding Organisation visits managed by Lead IQA’s to ensure low risk is maintained across all areas of provision. Oversee and review all quality mechanisms used to support the learners programme including BUD. Responsible for taking a lead in initiatives and managing operational activities concerning all aspects of QA across the organisation in a culture of continual improvement. Participate in own and manage staff reviews and performance management processes involving the identifying and meeting of training needs for self and others. Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others. Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the level of this post and/or assigned to support the Head of Quality and Curriculum. About you What we are looking for: Relevant experience in a quality and/or management position in Further Education skills sector The ability to use a range of software packages and bespoke software such as e-portfolio and VLE system(s) such as BUD, Microsoft office etc Extensive knowledge of the regulatory and statutory requirements of awarding organisations and EPAO’s within the education and training sector L4 Teaching Qualification L4 IQA Qualification Minimum of a L4 qualification within own area of expertise Strong analytical, administrative and organisation skills and great attention to detail Excellent communication skills with an eye for detail and good report writing skills Good communication and presentation skills - both written and verbal The ability to build effective relationships, both internal and external Ability to problem solve, work independently, and identify key priorities This role also requires the post holder to hold professional teaching, IQA and sector specific qualifications to be able to QA a range of apprenticeship standards and qualifications from L2 – L5.
