Housing and Support Assistant Location: Uxbridge, London (YMCA locations) Job Type: Part-time (30 hours on a shift rota including weekends) Our client a leading provider of supported housing is seeking a Housing and Support Assistant to provide essential support to our housing management team and serve as the first point of contact for our residents and visitors. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Serve as the first point of contact for residents and visitors, providing information, holistic advice, and high-quality customer service. Manage reception duties including operating the telephone switchboard, sorting post, logging repairs, and processing payments. Perform safety roles such as designated first aider and fire marshal, responsible for building evacuations during emergencies. Conduct regular patrols and Wellbeing and Facilities checks throughout the shift. Assist with the intake of residents, ensuring all paperwork is completed and policies are clearly explained. Manage building access, ensuring only authorized entry, and handle key distribution and collection. Monitor and report on maintenance issues and ensure Health and Safety standards are maintained. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in a customer-facing environment that requires problem-solving and a positive approach. Good working knowledge of equality and diversity; a Housing Diploma or related qualification is desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to advocate, negotiate, and mediate. Good organisational skills combined with proficiency in IT systems.
