We now have an opportunity to recruit an Electro–Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and be based at our site in Edinburgh, Scotland. This role will be based on site and will actively contribute to engineering product development, maintenance, and improvement of hydraulic pump and electronic controller including NPD, VA/VE by carrying out design, analysis, simulation, and testing of products, sub–assemblies, and components.
Job Responsibilities
As our new Electro–Mechanical Design Engineer, duties and responsibilities will include:
* Production of 3D models
* Basic FE static structural analysis
* Drawings of parts and sub–assemblies
* Producing electrical schematics and specifying mechanical and electrical components including electrical sensors
* Writing reports and supporting product documentation relating to hydraulic pump and related microcontroller, as instructed by Engineering Manager and Senior Engineers
To thrive in this role, we would expect candidates to demonstrate the following background and experience:
* Degree qualification or similar in a relevant discipline, alongside demonstrable experience in a similar role, working within electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic engineering. Experience within off–highway, automotive, oil and gas, or defence industries would be advantageous.
* Experience of using 3D Solid Modelling packages, such as Creo Wildfire, Siemens NX, Solidworks, or similar
* Experience of using FEA packages ANSYS
* Experience with Electrical Circuit Design software OrCAD or similar
* PLM software e.g. Teamcenter, Windchill or similar
* Enterprise software e.g. SAP, IFS, Oracle
