Working Hours: Weekdays 09:00-17:30 and Weekends 07:00 – 15:30
Overtime Rate: £23.87
Out of hours call-out fee: £50 + hours worked

Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to support the manufacturing process by carrying out scheduled maintenance work, being proactive in relation to reoccurring machinery faults, and responding effectively to equipment breakdowns. You will be accountable for ensuring a smooth running and efficient production environment through a proactive approach and a focus on continuous improvement.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Follow the company processes and procedures in relation to food safety, allergen control, protective clothing, and maintain good manufacturing practices throughout the shift.
2. Follow the clean as you go policy and maintain high standards of personal hygiene.
3. Perform reactive and proactive maintenance on a variety of packaging and process equipment.
4. Troubleshoot breakdowns across a range of equipment to minimize downtime.
5. Support production to facilitate optimum running time of lines.
6. Perform ancillary building maintenance around the site and outlying buildings.
7. Ensure all required paperwork is kept maintained and up to date throughout the department to provide historical records of breakdowns and PPMs.
8. Identify spares requirements and maintain stock levels as needed.
9. Communicate technical & operational issues quickly and effectively to relevant departments.
10. Project involvement from machinery upgrades to building work.
11. Minimize the environmental impact by following the company waste disposal procedures.
12. Support new product development processes.
13. Meet the relevant KPIs and targets assigned by the line manager.
Health and Safety:
1. Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner in accordance with instructions and comply with safety rules/procedures/regulations, reporting any unsafe practice or condition.
2. Report any accident, near-miss, dangerous occurrence, or dangerous condition to the line manager.
3. Obtain and use the correct tools/equipment for the work and do not use any that are unsafe or damaged. Report any tools/equipment issues.
4. Ensure that all guards are securely fixed, and that all safety equipment and personal protective clothing/equipment provided are used.
Role Requirements:
Essential:
* Engineering and Maintenance qualification.
* Good knowledge of H&S, Food Safety, and BRC standards.
* Mechanical aptitude.
* Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Experience in a similar type of role in the food industry.
