Our national teams deliver housing repairs, maintenance and improvement services to ensure our customers’ homes are safe and maintained to high standard.
We are looking for a Service Manager to manage the Responsive Repairs Team covering Cornwall. This is a regional based role which includes regular travel within the county and some travel to the Exeter office when required.
A full UK clean driving licence is required for this role.
This is a full-time permanent role working 39 hours per week Monday – Friday.
Reporting to the Regional Head of Service, you will:
1. Manage a team to deliver programmed works in customers’ homes.
2. Manage operative productivity and work quality and monitor progress by undertaking quality audits of work and materials (in progress and post).
3. Ensure the necessary financial controls are exercised and that adequate resources are in place.
4. Manage approved subcontractors’ performance and compliance with contractual agreements through regular assessment of quality and timescales.
5. Monitor that operatives are maintaining appropriate levels of vehicle stock.
6. Manage and control of materials in line with legislative standards and company guidelines.
7. Ensure that the company’s obligations relating to Health and Safety and other statutory regulations are adhered to through monitoring of safe working practices.
8. Ensure timely investigation and response to complaints, and quality and that workflow tasks are completed, and systems updated.
9. Support the protection and safety of our customers by ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed and safeguarding concerns are appropriately identified, monitored and reported.
We’re looking for:
10. Experience of successfully delivering an excellent customer focused repair service.
11. Experience of leading, managing, developing and motivating operational teams.
12. Up to date knowledge of building maintenance, Decent Homes Standards and safety legislation.
13. Up to date knowledge of housing sector best practice and relevant legislation.
14. Experience of repairs management information systems.
15. Excellent oral and written communications.
Desirable
16. Experience of stock condition software/handheld devices.
17. Experience of working as part of a management team delivering front line services.
18. Extensive knowledge of building maintenance technical operations.
Essential Qualifications
19. Relevant Technical qualification – trade NVQ level 3 or equivalent or relevant experience.
