Role Overview
As a Planner specialising in Overhead Lines (OHL), you will play a crucial role in the planning and scheduling of OHL projects within the organization. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive project plans, coordinating activities, and ensuring efficient resource allocation to support the successful delivery of OHL projects on time and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Working alongside Electrical Project Manager to manage assigned projects - programming to ensure that all key targets are achieved.
* Taking ownership of job from receipt to completion.
* Contacting and updating customers and clients throughout job progression.
* Accurately updating all work management systems and trackers (Depotnet, Smart Sheet, Schedule), progressing jobs through each stage of construction.
* Planning work to requested dates.
* Programming required work elements.
* Utilising available resources.
* Accurately detailing work elements on schedule.
* Correctly assigning required craftsmen.
* Dealing with affected stakeholders.
* Liaising with authorities.
* Notifying all necessary parties to ensure work can be carried out.
* Notifying NRSWA Co-Ordinating department of required street works applications to raise.
* Raising necessary Planned Supply Interruptions in line with network requirements (utilising information supplied by engineers).
* Organising carding packs, as required, so that the Access Officer can accurately deliver outage notification letters.
* Management of job portfolio, providing weekly updates to Planning Manager.
* Producing jeopardy reports, age profiling outstanding jobs, managing timely job completion.
* Managing and prioritising own workload taking into account your own objectives and those of the wider team.
* Creating, maintaining and enhancing working relationships with key contacts across the project.
* Actively contributing towards departmental plan as guided by manager. Reporting progress on performance at regular intervals.
* Supporting the specification, development and implementation of interventions and enablers to address function relevant issues.
Skills and Experience
Qualification
* Current, or expired, DNO authorisation in SSE or other.
Knowledge
* Experience in planning electrical network outages at both LV and HV.
* Proficient use and knowledge of software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
* Understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act.
* Knowledge of the “Safety at Street Works and Road Works Code of Practice.”
Skills
* Experience using SSEN’s EO Web online mapping system.
* Worked within the utilities industry.
