Key Responsibilities:
1. Represent the Procurement Department in cross-functional teams driving New Product Introduction (NPI) and research projects, ensuring strict adherence to timelines, quality standards, and cost constraints.
2. Read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications to align supplier outputs with project requirements.
3. Identify potential vendors, issue RFQs and RFIs, and negotiate favorable terms and conditions, ensuring vendor capabilities meet project needs.
4. Track supplier progress to guarantee on-time delivery of tooling and samples at the required quality levels. Lead technical reviews with suppliers and design teams to confirm manufacturability, ensure comprehension of drawings, and secure supplier acceptance.
5. Collaborate with Supplier Quality to resolve quality and delivery issues related to purchased components, applying the 8D process for effective problem resolution.
6. Propose sourcing options to guide decision-making, advise engineering teams on component selections, and ensure timely approval of all purchased parts to meet project schedules.
7. Ensure vendors possess the necessary production capacity and tools. Work closely with planners to ensure supply chain readiness for Development Validation and Manufacturing stages.
