Our client based in Farnborough has an excellent opportunity to join their team as a Logistics Apprentice - who will learn Supply Chain qualities on a permanent basis.
As the Logistics Apprentice, you will work within the Supply Chain structure to provide and sustain a compliant import & export service whilst being a member of a team that is responsible for the picking, packing, and despatch of all work and sales orders within a stores environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Documentation & Record keeping - Ensuring the correct shipping paperwork both internal hardcopies & online website information.
2. Procedures - Adhering to Customs Procedures for Importing and Exporting:
o Home Use
o End Use
o VAT
o Intrastats
o Duty Relief IPR/OPR - Inward Processing Relief/Outward Processing Relief
3. Customs Compliance - Import & Export compliance with customs regulations.
4. Manage Ad hoc Export Shipments.
5. NES Export Declarations & other Import entries for Export shipment.
6. Ensure Imports/Exports comply with tariffs, duty regulations.
7. Clearance of all incoming Purchased parts including Sub-Tier & Mexico.
8. Export shipping - create & manage paperwork and use of all portals.
9. Approval and Validation of all commercial invoices.
10. Fully conversant with all supplier portals (RR Matrix, PWC, GE, etc.) onsite training courses.
11. Ensure all customer deliveries are met.
12. Maintain knowledge of Local, national & International customs procedures/practices.
13. The ability to despatch sales orders to customers which includes generating despatch paperwork, picking, packing and releasing to customer specifications and requirements.
14. Booking orders to stock and putting away in the correct stores location.
15. Control and ordering of all packaging material.
16. Goods Inwards, be competent on all aspects of goods received and be able to book in all types of purchase orders whether from a supplier or Mexico.
17. Control of parts with a shelf life.
18. Daily cycle counts.
19. Generate all paperwork and labels for shipments to Mexico and be able to pick and pack them.
20. Transfer and adjust stock on LN.
21. Responsible for all the scanning and archiving of paperwork.
22. Fully interact with other departments.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
1. Sound PC skills (Excel, Word, databases etc.).
2. Enthusiastic and hardworking individual.
3. A good communicator, with the ability to communicate at all levels within and external to the business.
4. Able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
5. Good numerical and literacy skills.
