Job Description Lead Maintenance Engineer We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Green Energy provider based in County Antrim for the role of Lead Maintenance Engineer. This position is integral to the maintenance and optimization of electromechanical control systems at their Biomethane upgrading facility and across multiple sites. Role Overview: Reporting directly to the Plant Manager and senior management, the Lead Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of the plant ’ s equipment. This includes troubleshooting, implementing corrective measures, and driving preventive maintenance initiatives. The successful candidate will also lead a small engineering team, fostering a multi-skilled, dynamic culture to achieve world-class manufacturing standards. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized technical support and perform maintenance across multiple sites, focusing on the main facility. Train and develop a multi-skilled technical team to enhance operational efficiency. Troubleshoot equipment issues, implement corrective actions, and propose preventive measures. Perform both preventive and reactive maintenance, ensuring machine reliability and efficiency. Lead plant improvements and contribute to R&D projects to enhance standards and productivity. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team. Generate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Engineering Work Instructions (EWIs) for maintenance processes. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, managing permit-to-work systems, and overseeing contractor activities. Utilize lean manufacturing tools to analy s e maintenance data and improve processes. Candidate Requirements: Minimum of 5 years ’ experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a production/manufacturing environment. Multi-skilled in electromechanical engineering, with a 70/30 electrical bias. Qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Strong experience in electrical automation, mechanical drive systems, and process engineering. Experience with single and 3-phase motors, and an understanding of CAPEX and cost management. Proficiency in MS Office applications and the ability to read and interpret engineering schematics.
