Our school supports students aged 11-17 with moderate learning difficulties and additional complex needs, including speech, language, communication challenges, and behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. As a HLTA, you will provide high-level support across the school, working alongside teachers to support students' academic and personal development, helping them to achieve their full potential in a caring and supportive environment. Role and Responsibilities: As an HLTA, your key duties will include: Supporting teachers in the delivery of lessons to a class of students, adapting resources and strategies to meet individual needs. Taking on small group or 1:1 sessions with students to provide additional support for their academic and social development. Working with students with a range of special educational needs (SEND), including behavioural, emotional, and learning challenges. Monitoring students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents, and helping to set individual learning goals. Assisting with the implementation of IEPs (Individual Education Plans) and ensuring students are engaged and supported. Providing positive reinforcement and encouragement to help students succeed in all aspects of their education. What We Are Looking For: Qualified HLTA status or equivalent experience in an educational setting. Previous experience working with students with SEND, especially those with behavioural, emotional, and learning challenges. Strong communication and organizational skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to support students' individual needs. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with teaching staff.
