Job Description
We are looking for an experienced financial accountant to join a dynamic team! We are seeking a Group Financial Accountant for a 9-month parental cover position. This hybrid role is based from our Teddington office allowing the flexibility to work from home 3 days a week.
About the Role
As a Group Financial Accountant, you'll be at the heart of our operations for a £700m+ turnover private equity-backed global business. You'll be involved in a variety of projects, from systems improvements and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to month-end and year-end support, including reporting, audit support, and analysis. You'll collaborate closely with the Group accounting team, our outsourced finance provider, the Group Finance Manager, and the Group Financial Controller, with regular interaction with senior divisional finance team members.
Key Responsibilities
* Play a hands-on role in closing monthly results, financial year-end, preparing statutory financial documents (IFRS), and participating in various accounting projects such as operational improvement and simplification.
* Work closely with our outsourced finance provider on month-end transactional activities.
* Help build and maintain uniform and consistently documented and applied financial policies and processes.
* Assist in implementing and developing supporting platforms (e.g., Business Objects, Tableau, Blackline).
Qualifications
* Qualified accountant with technical skills and a thorough understanding of consolidation.
* Degree-level qualification.
* IFRS experience.
* Hands-on experience and knowledge of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), fixed asset accounting, etc.
* Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and a positive communication style.
* Proven ability to work optimally in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues at all levels.
* Experience with IFS is an advantage.
