Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative English Teacher to join an Outstanding Ofsted-rated mixed gender secondary school in Barnet. This full-time, permanent position, with an ASAP start, offers a chance to make a significant impact on students' literacy and communication skills.
About the Role:
As an English Teacher, you will be pivotal in delivering a dynamic and engaging English curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will inspire students to develop a love for literature and language, encouraging them to become confident and articulate communicators.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and deliver engaging English lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
* Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
* Implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and engagement with literary texts and language concepts.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support to ensure academic success.

* Organise and participate in extracurricular activities, such as debating clubs, poetry slams, and theatre workshops.

Ideal Candidate:
* A passion for English literature and language, with a strong understanding of literary analysis and creative writing.
* A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) and a strong academic background in English.
* Proven experience teaching English at secondary level, ideally within an Outstanding Ofsted-rated school.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
