Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the supportive and friendly Acute Frailty Team at FGH as a part-time Frailty Assistant. We are looking to recruit a motivated, proactive and adaptable individual who has an interest, and would like to develop their skills in providing holistic care for older people living with frailty. Main duties of the job The main duties of the role are expected to include: Providing care to patients who meet the criteria for the frailty service Gathering relevant information from patients/families/carers/colleagues from other teams to contribute to assessments by team members Contributing to and carry out delegated aspects of therapy/nursing treatment programmes Completing record keeping, onward referrals and admin tasks Working flexibly to support individual patient and service needs. About us We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre. Assist the team in the delivery of high-quality patient care (often without direct supervision) through a range of clinical procedures. This will include (but is not limited to) health related education and assisting in both the assessment process and delivery of patient care, including personal care. 2. To be able to safely use a wide range of specialist health and therapy aids and equipment in a manner that respects the dignity of patients. Examples include standing and walking frames, wheelchairs, manual and electric hoists, slide sheets and moving boards, hearing aids and other physical aids. 3.
