Music Coordinator (with Teaching Responsibilities)
24 hours/3 days per week, 40 weeks per year
Actual salary £14,489 - £18,488 (up to £21,006 with QTS)
FTE Salary: £27,524- £35,119 (up to £39,016 with QTS)

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Music Coordinator with Teaching Responsibilities at Grace Garden School, to work with students with learning disabilities and complex needs.
We would be interested to speak with candidates who will be able:
1. To plan and deliver music sessions to individuals or small groups of students according to their individual needs and learning requirements. A bespoke RMT music curriculum is available as a guide.
2. To encourage students with the right aptitude to prepare and perform pieces of music, whether solo or as a group, at festivals and school or Trust performances.
3. To be part of an ongoing assessment of students’ learning needs and to make reasonable adjustments as required, minimising barriers to learning and achievement.
4. Work creatively with different musical styles and acoustic, unplugged instruments to meet the varied needs of our students.
5. Positively role model behaviours and attitudes.
6. Support students on their life journey by developing good rapport and giving appropriate challenges that build their self-confidence to participate in the cultural life of the community.
7. To work alongside and to support teachers and teaching assistants to deliver music in the classroom.
8. To prepare suitable music for seasonal festivals and performances and supervise rehearsals with students and staff.
9. Collaborate with other teachers and therapists, including Speech and Language, Dance and Drama to coordinate cross-discipline learning sessions and experiences.
10. Lead CPD to develop staff confidence and skill in singing and teaching music fundamentals.
11. To maintain the instrument collection and the organisation of the music room
The position may suit recent graduates from music trainings including music therapy and world music’s.
You will receive ongoing CPD in therapeutic music education and community music and will receive mentoring in the role.
