Senior Social Worker – Request for Assistance Team
An opportunity has arisen to join the leadership team of our Children and Families social work service. Senior Social Workers play a key role in the delivery of our frontline service and are responsible for leading a team of social workers and support workers. As well as providing day to day line management to your team you will also have key responsibilities in supporting and developing your team in line with their identified learning needs and levels of experience. As a leader you will promote a culture of continuous improvement and will reflect the ambition of our Health and Social Care Partnership to ensure that we give our children and young people the best start in life.
As the HSCP continues its journey to implement the recommendations from the National Care Review and realise the ambition of The Promise we are seeking an experienced and confident leader to join our team. You will have significant experience as a practitioner in all aspects of voluntary and statutory community children’s social work, with a clear track record of working successfully in partnership with children and young people and their families as well as other partners to achieve positive outcomes.
Children’s Services in Inverclyde is at the beginning of an exciting period of change, to equip us to continue to meet the needs of our communities, support more children to remain at home and provide a high standard of support to families when they need it. The successful candidate in this post will be someone ready to lead and support colleagues through change.
Our Request for Assistance Team is usually the first contact a family and partner agencies will have with our service. The main function of the RFA team is to respond to new information, identify risk and take appropriate steps to provide an initial assessment of risk and need to help inform next steps and the most appropriate support for a child and their family. Working in conjunction with our 3rd sector partner you will also be involved in the development and evaluation of our innovative partnership to provide early help and support to families.
