At our recently refurbished Cambridge site, we are looking for a Lab Technician or Operator to support our expanding electronics R&D facility. The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting the development of our technology and products. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about all aspects of semiconductor test, as such, the chosen candidate will receive comprehensive training in the operation of wafer probers, climate chambers, optical microscopes, and related equipment to allow them to support the development of Pragmatic Semiconductor's products and technology.

Key tasks
* Following procedures to operate electronic lab equipment, perform maintenance and assemble prototypes.
* Following a standard operating procedure to load, unload and run automatic test systems such as semiconductor wafer probers.
* Soldering, rework, and testing of PCBs (printed circuit boards).
* Support engineers in setting up equipment, looking after inventory and troubleshooting issues.
* Take a proactive approach to resolving issues, tackling problems and learn about new systems.
* Maintaining a safe working environment for themself and other lab users.
* A strong ability to work to tight deadlines and progress multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to work independently and part of a team.
* Enthusiasm.
Qualifications and training
* Equivalent of GCSE Grade C or 4 or better in English and ideally a Science subject.
* Time-served qualifications and experience.
* Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Essential Skills and Experience

* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
* Ability to work shifts (early/lates, some occasional weekend work).
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Previous experience as an electronics Lab Technician would be advantageous (but NOT essential).
* Demonstrable experience in handling lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators.
* Experience in hardware handling, rework and soldering.
* Knowledge in calibration for lab equipment.
* Knowledge of ESD and Health & Safety best practices including 5S as well as regulatory requirements.
* Previous experience troubleshooting issues with electronic test equipment.
* The ability to follow technical documents, electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams and schematics is an added advantage.
