Legal Services Apprentices will work alongside and take direction from members of the Legal Services Team. The main focus of the role is to provide administrative assistance and support to the team.
Apprenticeship eligibility:
1. An Apprentice cannot already be on an Apprenticeship or any Government funded training.
2. An Apprentice cannot have a qualification at the same or higher level in the same vocational area.
Eligible for funding:
1. Has been a UK resident for 3 or more years, or
2. Meets the eligible and valid residency status and permission to work in the UK criteria in Annex A of the linked funding document: Apprenticeship funding rules 2024 to 2025.
Please note from 1st April 2025 the apprenticeship salary will be as below:
1. Year 1 of Apprenticeship:
Any age = £7.55/hour
2. Year 2 and subsequent years:
National Minimum Wage for age
Under 18 = £7.55/hour
18 - 20 yrs. = £10.00/hour
21 + yrs. = £12.21/hour
Main duties of the job
In this role, the Legal Services Apprentice will gain experience in basic administrative roles by providing support for the Request for Information (RFI) team, Claims (Clinical Negligence, Employee Liability, Public Liability, and Compensation and Losses). The role will include inputting of Requests for Information (RFIs) onto Datix, taking telephone calls and messages where appropriate, writing letters using a template, and will develop their skills, knowledge, and competence in data analysis and presentation. The role will support the achievement of the Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship.
This will be supported through on-the-job training, guidance and supervision, attendance at relevant training sessions provided by the Trust and the Training Provider, and assessment in the workplace.

You will be working within our Legal Team, in an exciting and fast-paced working environment dealing with claims, requests for data disclosure, and a disparate range of legal enquiries associated with all aspects of NHS services. The post holder will be supported by the Legal Services Manager and the Head of Legal Services.
