The Imaging Department is looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to the position of Imaging Department Assistant within the General X-ray team at UHNM.
This is a bank post to support the General Plain Film's imaging department assistant team.
Imaging Department Assistants are required to provide a supportive role to the imaging team ensuring the delivery of an efficient and effective service; working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to give the best quality of service by assisting radiographers, nurses and medical staff.
A caring, co-operative and flexible approach to working practices is required whilst maintaining a professional attitude for the dignity and well-being of the patient.
Reception / clerical duties including data entry are essential elements of the role, however the role also consists of working clinically alongside Radiographers within Imaging rooms and also on portable imaging.
The post holder will act as a Fire Warden to the team (training given).
Main duties of the job
The duties are varied and include data input, reception duties, direct patient care, assisting Diagnostic Radiographers, maintaining stock in clinical areas and departmental cleanliness. Successful candidates would need to be highly motivated, uphold the Trust's values and promises and have good organisational and IT skills.
Applicants must have previous experience of working in a caring environment and hold 5 GCSE's at grade C or above to include Maths and English.

* Minimum 5 GCSE's or equivalent vocational course, to include English grade C or above
* NVQ2 or 3 in Care
* Evidence of personal development
Experience
* Experience in a patient/client facing caring environment/role
* Experience of working in a patient facing/clinical environment
* Experience of working in a NHS clinical role
* Experience of working within an imaging department in a clinical role
* Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft packages and able to undertake accurate data entry
* Ability to organise and prioritise
* Working knowledge of radiation information systems
