Working across the county of Wiltshire, you will join a dedicated team which is expanding to meet a variety of challenges in the sustainable delivery of aggregate minerals for construction and provision of waste management facilities. Principal Planning Officer (Minerals and Waste Policy) - £44,711 - £46,731 Link to Policy Role description and person specification As the Principal Planning Officer, you will take a lead role in policy formulation and stakeholder engagement for minerals and waste planning, including preparation of the Minerals and Waste Plan. This will include responsibility for co-ordinating and managing projects that ensure an evidence-led approach is taken to policy and plan-making, meeting the need for minerals and waste management capacity across the county, balancing economic development with environmental and community interests. Our ideal candidate will hold a planning related degree and higher qualification accredited by the RTPI, together with post-qualification experience working on significant strategic planning policy matters and preparation of local plans. Planning Officer (Minerals and Waste Policy) Level 2 - £36,124 - £37,938 Link to Policy Role description and person specification The Level 2 Planning Policy Officer will support the preparation, monitoring and review of minerals and waste polices and the supporting evidence base, including effective data collection and reporting of mineral reserves and waste capacity and requirements. You will research planning and industry issues relevant to Wiltshire and the local sub-regional area and prepare and deliver reports with recommendations for project leads / teams to use when developing policies. For the Level 2 post, we seek candidates with a relevant degree and some experience post-qualification working in a similar work environment, with a good understanding of / or interest in minerals and waste planning matters.
