Period/Terms: Part Time – 3 days a week Salary: £48,000 - £50,000 FTE Location: Hybrid - Headquartered in Central London Reporting to: Managing Director Start date: March 2025 We are seeking a People Manager to cover maternity leave for a year, supporting Mindful Education by maintaining our culture, processes, policies and co-leading on key people projects, working with stakeholders across the organisation. Your role will involve working closely with the Managing Director and senior members of each team, to help ensure the needs of our staff are met. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational HR activities. You will need to promote effective employee relations, as well as ensuring compliance with company policies, employment legislation and best practice. The ideal candidate will have relevant previous experience as a People Manager (also known as a HR Manager), be highly organised, proactive and able to act with integrity, compassion and empathy. Key responsibilities To manage operational human resources on a day-to-day basis. To maintain our HRIS - BambooHR and troubleshoot any arising issues. To support relevant team leads and hiring managers in end to end recruitment processes using the built-in ATS in BambooHR. To liaise with candidates and hiring managers to arrange interviews. To manage the onboarding of new employees and offboard leavers. To communicate relevant employee policies to the rest of the company and keep them updated in line with employment legislation. To be the key point of contact for team members for questions regarding our policies. To coordinate annual and mid-year performance appraisals, supporting all line managers. To coordinate and lead on the annual company pay review process and discussions with relevant stakeholders. To support managers in dealing with any capability or employee relations issues. To plan and coordinate staff training sessions. Assist our Marketing team with the annual Summer and Winter conferences, and any other ad-hoc whole company events. To work closely with the Managing Director in each of the areas listed above and any others within the remit of the role, providing regular updates and reports on progress and deliverables. Skills and experience The candidate must possess the following skills, experience and attributes: Track record of providing the right advice; weighing up all the possible solutions ensuring minimal risk to the organisation. Project management and delivery experience Led on key people related projects in previous roles with demonstrable results making a positive impact to the people and the organisation A good working knowledge of UK employment law. A highly organised working style, with a strong attention to detail and an ability to set and prioritise tasks. Collaborative and solutions-driven with the ability to work autonomously. An inherent dedication for quality and high standards. A “can do attitude”, determination and a readiness to roll up your sleeves. An ability to present information concisely and effectively. Worked in a standalone People/HR role within an SME Qualifications Level 5 CIPD or equivalent experience The following skills, experience and attributes would be an advantage to applicants: Line manager experience Prior experience with BambooHR Experience working in a hybrid, medium sized company An excellent level of digital skills, with experience working with Excel, Microsoft Office, collaborative software such as Google docs and project management software.
