My client, a successful Multidisciplinary Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy based in Manchester, is seeking a talented Principle Civil Engineer to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead civil infrastructure design for projects in the Grid & Energy Storage sector.
It is essential for the Principle Civil Engineer to have a professional and commercial viewpoint through having the following:
* Civil/Structural Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
* Chartered Engineer status with ICE or IHT.
* Proven expertise in:
o Drainage design.
o Earthworks and alignment design.
o Highways and road improvement design.
o Project and commercial management.
* Strong communication, influencing, and leadership skills.
Duties and responsibilities for this Structural Engineer include:
* Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering packages for transmission and distribution grid infrastructure, substations, converter and switching stations, and HVDC projects.
* Manage drainage design for watercourse crossings, culverts, and bridges, as well as networks for substation compound buildings.
* Develop highway improvement designs to facilitate abnormal load delivery to development sites.
* Ensure technical quality and compliance of civil engineering designs, calculations, drawings, and documents.
* Mentor and coach junior staff, identifying training needs and supporting professional development.
* Collaborate with business managers on resource planning and pipeline management.
