Title: Assistant Water Quality Process Scientist
Location: Falmer & Hardham
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: Up to £29,000
There has never been a better time to join our organisation as we build towards a greener future, tackling climate change, minimising our environmental impact and reducing our carbon footprint.
As an Assistant Water Quality Process Scientist, you will be working within our operational Process Science Team who are responsible for ensuring drinking water produced for the public meets exceptionally high-quality standards. We work alongside operations to carry out performance checks on water treatment assets, analysing laboratory test results (taken from throughout the treatment processes through to the customers’ taps), whilst providing advice on optimising drinking water treatment.
This is a new role, developed to provide assistance to the team, carrying out duties including:
1. Data analysis
2. Assistance with performance checks
3. Administration of investigatory sampling
4. Administration of risk management systems
This role also supports operations in managing evidence for submission for internal and Inspectorate audits.
In ensuring that water quality targets and standards relating to specific legislation are met, you will provide support across the business on operation, optimisation of existing and new assets to keep the supply of water to our customers maintained at the highest quality and monitoring efficiency of our treatment processes.
With a proactive approach, willingness to learn, and good communication and IT skills, this is a great opportunity to develop and progress within the water industry. This position requires visits to operational sites, so a full driving licence and access to your own car is required.
Ideally, you will have some experience in the water industry, or an environmental/engineering/scientific qualification; however, this is not as essential as a thirst to learn about the water industry. Training is provided for this position.
