Job summary
This non-clinical post, supporting theclinical team on Ward 15, you will be an integral part of the ward team, and beresponsible for the patient notes, answering the telephones and ordering stock.This role will not support direct patient care. This post holder would need to provide a courteous, efficient and professional WardClerk service, making a valuable contribution to support patient care from timeof admission to discharge. The successful candidate would be the first contactpoint for all Ward visitors and members of the multi professional team, goodinterpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Previous NHSclerical experience is desirable, and administrative and commuter skills wouldbe an advantage. Successful candidate will need excellent telephone manner andmust be able to deal efficiently with members of the public and all disciplinesof Hospital staff. Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide acomprehensive administrative receptionist service to the department.
This will include:
1. Answering phone, adhering toconfidentiality rules.
2. Making appointments for patients.
3. Filing notes.
4. Input data onto computerised systemsincluding PAS, Bluespier, EZ notes, Sunrise.
5. Prepping notes for admission to the Ward.
6. Ordering stationary for the Ward if required.

Job Summary
The individual in this role will deliver a full range ofadministrative and receptionist support to the department. This includesscheduling appointments using computerised systems based on establishedpolicies and procedures, managing file organization, and entering data neededfor audits.
Key Responsibilities
Use of manual and computerised systems including PAS,Bluespier, EZ notes, Sunrise to:
Maintain and check patient registration details anddemographic information
Retrieve patient information
Record the issue and receipt of records on the PAS casenote tracking system
To check EZ notes and ensure they are available for plannedTCIs
Maintain patient EZ notes folders by:
Filing reports / correspondence / forms etc in an orderedmanner, to facilitate the efficient retrieval of such documentation on request.
Repairing case notes folders
Making up new folders, registering patients
Ordering stationary suppliers when required
Inputting date for audits
Working Relationships
Internal Consultants and junior medical staff, NursePractitioners, other hospital staff both within the department and outside,other healthcare professionals, medical secretaries, health records staff,PALS.
External GP surgeries, other hospitals, patients andrelatives / carers
