Exciting opportunities have arisen for a screener to join our dynamic Young Greenwich School Nursing Team.
Young Greenwich Partnership is commissioned by the Royal Borough of Greenwich led by Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust (Oxleas) and delivered with partners Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) and METRO.
The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic delivering the National Child Measurement Programme and Vision screening across schools in Greenwich. We are looking for a candidate who possesses excellent communication skills and can work unsupervised on occasions.
Applicants must have a current driving license with access to a car for work.
Main duties of the job
The key purpose of the programme is to enable young people to develop holistically, working with them to facilitate their personal, social, and educational aspirations with an aim to develop their voice and reach their full potential.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Knowledge of the Young Greenwich Universal Services, The Healthy Child Programme, National Screening Committee guidelines (NSC) for children and the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP).
* To be responsible for the accurate recording of NCMP and Vision screening at time of programme and when inputting clinical data onto the NHS digital excels and child health record.
* To be committed to working as part of a team and ability to work autonomously to deliver the screening programmes against strict time constraints.
* To work flexibly within the Trust as requested by the line manager to meet the needs of the service and able to adapt to schools and deadlines of programme.
* Attend all relevant professional meetings and cascade information to colleagues.
* To participate in multi-disciplinary activities such as Forums and Hub training for own professional development.
* Set own objectives in conjunction with and to participate in performance development reviews (annually).
* To work appropriately with any barriers to communication, physical disabilities, and cultural backgrounds.
* Adhere to the Lone Working / Safe systems of work policies.
Person specification
Education/Qualifications
* Good general education GCSE Level NVQ level 3 in Education, Health, or Social Care or evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Community experience of working with Children in a health / education /social care setting.
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge
* Knowledge of Healthy Child Programme/National Child Measurement Programme/Vision Screening.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Packages ie Word and Excel and ability to learn new packages eg RiO.
Effort and environment
* Car driver with full UK driving licence.
* Access to a car for work.
