You will benefit from small class sizes as a dedicated Learning Support Worker, and high ratios of student support workers. This is intended to underpin highly personalised learning opportunities and interactions. You will also work alongside the expertise of a multi-disciplinary team including positive behaviour practitioners, nurses, assistive technologists, occupational and physiotherapists where relevant to the learner. Our learning support roles are term time only, and you will be supported to access training as a teacher but also in multidisciplinary team working. About You About The Role Hours : 32 hours per week, term time only Salary : £23,000 to £27,000 Job Responsibilities: This list outlines the duties required at the current time to indicate the level of responsibility. To plan and deliver a highly differentiated person-centered curriculum in line with individual education outcomes which enables learners to fulfil their full potential. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure all learners have equity of opportunity to identify and develop the skills required to prepare them for adulthood. To plan learning which supports learners to demonstrate measurable progress and achievement Maintain and manage evidence based progress and achievement through targeted recording and report writing which evidence progress against set EHCP (Education Health and Care Plan) outcomes Provide high quality learning opportunities in both creative and functional subjects via differentiated lessons to learners with complex cognition, learning and physical needs. Plan for, identify and eliminate barriers to learning by applying individual support plans and protocols at all times Identify year-long achievement outcomes that each learner will achieve, may achieve and could aspire to achieve. Set SMART (specific, measureable, achievable, realistic and time bound) steps of learning, development and achievement for each individual learner within your class. Measure and record progress over time and ensure a high quality evidence base in order to demonstrate completion of learning objectives in the form of daily narratives and report writing. Align knowledge, behaviours and skills outlined within the learning pathways to subject specific activities in line with the organisational values Deliver sessions that promote emergent and conventional literacy skills in line with the individuals learning needs and intended outcomes; ensure the relevance of this outcome to the learner Be responsible for completing and following risk assessments of curricular activities and extra curricula both in and outside of the college Work collaboratively in a person centred way to promote and ensure therapeutic opportunities and assistive technologies are embedded into students’ programmes. Promote and deliver effective classroom management, deploying learning and support workers efficiently to meet the needs of the students. Plan, prepare for and undertake educational activities, including trips and visits, to ensure financial, health, safety and wellbeing arrangements are timely, and meet organisational and national guidance and approval arrangements. Plan for and ensure that learning and support staff have all the necessary information and resources to support effective learning; equip cover staff to provide the necessary outcomes to learning Provide personal tutor support for a caseload of identified students Take part in training and development including learning walks to promote and encourage high standards of teaching, learning and assessment Contribute to the cycle of continuous quality improvement and self-assessment activity within the service Ensure compliance with the organisation and college’s policies and procedures at all times To report and record safeguarding, health & safety and behaviour concerns in a timely manner in line with organisational and college policy and procedure To maintain a healthy and safe environment at all times and respond to any breeches in health and safety in a timely manner in line with college policy and procedure To keep all relevant data secure in line with the colleges Data Protection Policy and Procedure Any other duty commensurate with the post as required by the college leadership team This is an indicative job description and should not be seen as all encompassing, and the post holder will be expected to undertake any other responsibilities appropriate to the post as identified by the company.
