Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Caldicott. This is a project-based role that requires strong electrical engineering skills and the ability to work independently.
About the Role
The primary function of this role is to take the initial Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) through to fully designed and specified electrical equipment needed for bespoke water treatment systems.
* Write the control philosophy from the initial P&ID
* Carry out calculations to size motors, cables, heat losses, and intrinsic safety
* Create the I/O list needed for the system
* Create specifications for instruments and electrical hardware
* Write FAT procedures for equipment
Occasional travel to control panel manufacturers for witnessing tests will also be required. Continuous liaison with vendors through the project is essential.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* An electrical qualification (ideally HNC level)
* Previous experience working within an Electrical Design Engineer role
* Ability to read electrical drawings and complete electrical calculations
* Some base understanding of instrumentation would be highly advantageous

This is a full-time role offering:
* A salary of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
* A hybrid working policy (2/3 days from home)
