Job Description Vice President – Defence Engineering Operations Full time Bristol, Derby, Solihull, or Indianapolis Grade: Level B An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vice President – Defence Engineering Operations to join the Defence Engineering, Technology and Safety (ET&S) team. This role can be based in Bristol, Derby, Solihull, or Indianapolis. Reporting to the Defence ET&S Director, you will be key in ensuring the smooth-running of Defence ET&S by acting as the Chief of Staff for the Defence ET&S leadership team. As a change agent, you will add value through fixing problems that pose significant risk and identifying opportunities to improve Defence ET&S delivery and governance. You will lead a small global portfolio team responsible for supporting short- and long-term divisional resource demand forecasting, milestone management, and engineering operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain broad exposure to ET&S leadership both within Defence and in the broader function. What you will be doing: In this role you will actively participate in the development and execution of the Defence ET&S strategy. You will be a thought leader who influences and delivers through: Project Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of capability demand process, including defining requirements, securing stakeholder approval, and aligning partner support. Problem Solving: Tackle complex challenges, working closely with Chief Engineers on special projects to define new operational strategies and drive improvements. Technical & People Leadership: Ensure Defence ET&S are using the full capabilities developed in group, while leading a global team of engineering operations members. Standards and Knowledge Sharing: Lead the sharing of best practices and participate in governance by coordinating leadership priorities and initiatives. Continuous Improvement: Enhance organizational processes for efficiency and productivity, foster a culture of innovation, and support continuous improvement efforts.
