We currently have a new recruit incentive bonus, which is : Signing on bonus (£2,000) A new employee (from 5 May 2023) will be immediately paid a £500 bonus. After 3 months continuous service with Halifax Fan, with no unauthorized absences, a further bonus of £500 will be paid. After a further 3 months service, again with no unauthorized absences (6 months in total) they will receive a further £1,000 bonus. The bonus will be paid via payroll on the appropriate week/month. Location: Halifax Fan (UK) Reporting to: Functional and Hierarchical Manager, Chief Engineer Purpose of role: Optimise Product Design and Manufacturing method/tooling to minimise Cycle Time and manufacturing cost, without compromising Product Quality or plant safety. Work with Production Manager to ensure a health and Safety compliant work environment Quality, Cost, Delivery & Safety (QCDS) responsibilities Quality: Reduce defects found in manufacturing Cost: Designs shall be robust and optimally producible. Seek ways to automate and minimise total fulfilment Cycle Time Delivery: Ensure production processes are predictable and robust Safety: Ensure you know that the process, tools and capacities utilised to manufacture allow for work to be completed without compromising safety. Key Requirements and Responsibilities: Automate, automate. Lead the selection and acquisition of suitable automation process and equipment. Optimise workflow; improve method, design, equipment, tooling and/or fixtures. Eliminate production or design activity that does not increase product value. Ensure suitable gauging, instrumentation, process, and tools are available to adequately validate product to design specifications. Ensure suitable documentation and training has been devised and is available to complete all tasks required in the manufacture and validation of Product. Conduct any analytical or empirical studies required to support proposed changes. Liaison directly with Customers and or Suppliers as required by the function. Produce any process, method or technical documentation required for optimised manufacture. Coordinate special third party/internal services required to fulfil the requirement. Support any new product, method or processes required to meet new designs. Support the drive to improve using the principles of 5S on the shop floor. Knowledge, Skill or Ability required And or machining apprenticeship and or Technical or Engineering degree or equivalent preferred. Desirable – 10 years’ experience in an Industrial Engineering role
