Would you like to help us make a positive impact on our children and their families?
Fairisle Infant and Nursery School is a three-form entry school with a separate Nursery building on site. We are part of the Bridge Education Trust Southampton. We are an inclusive setting with an emphasis on a child-centered and family friendly approach to care and learning. We have supportive parents and Governors and our children are well behaved, enthusiastic and proud of their school. Please visit our website for a virtual tour made by the children.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and caring person to support in our Wrap Around Care team. We offer Breakfast Club and After School Childcare and have various term time only shifts available, both regular shifts on a fixed term contract and zero hours bank staff contracts to cover staff absence.
Our Wrap Around Care provision accepts children from our Nursery, through our Infant School to children who attend Fairisle Junior School. We provide a safe and welcoming environment, allowing children to play, socialise and enjoy healthy food.
Successful candidates will:
1. Enjoy working with children and have a sense of humour.
2. Be a supportive and helpful team member.
3. Help monitor the welfare of the children, ensuring their emotional and physical wellbeing.
4. Prepare healthy food, support children whilst eating and clear up afterwards.
5. Set up activities and engage with children in play, relaxation and craft activities.
6. Help support children with Special Needs.
7. Communicate effectively and maintain good relationships with parents.
8. Be happy to administer minor first aid.
9. Be willing to learn, preferably with relevant experience but will not need formal qualification.
In return, we can offer you:
1. A friendly and supportive team.
2. The opportunity to work with lovely and respectful children.
3. A happy and safe school environment.
4. Staff training, in particular Safeguarding and Food Hygiene.
5. An hourly rate of £12.45 to £12.65.
6. A fixed term contract until 31 December 2025 with the possibility to extend and/or zero hours / bank staff who we can call on to cover shifts when necessary.
If you are considering a future role working with children this could support you in gaining the experience you will need. We are a school that supports staff professional development.
We would also consider for the right candidate to facilitate adding in a lunchtime position if this were something that wanted to be considered additional to the role advertised. This is not, however, an advert for a lunchtime support assistant solely.
We are happy to receive applications from candidates who would like to work for one, both or all three roles. We will consider candidates who cannot work every day, providing the needs of the setting are met. Please state your preferences in your application.
We look forward to welcoming excellent candidates to the Fairisle Family.
