Castell Howell Foods is Wales’ leading independent food service wholesaler, servicing the length and breadth of Wales, the Border Counties and the South West of England. We currently have a vacancy for a Supplier Rebate Controller based at our Cross Hands depot.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in quite a unique role that would suit someone who enjoys the process elements of business administration but also has an analytical side that they’d like to develop further. Interpersonal skills will play an important part of the role as you’ll be meeting and dealing with different internal departments and external suppliers.
Reporting to the Purchasing Director, the role is primarily administrative driven with invoice/claim/payment processing responsibilities. Dealing with supplier claim-backs requires strong attention to detail, be methodical and organised with the ability to work independently. You should be proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Oversee a key portfolio of supplier contract rebate claims
2. Ensure accurate and timely invoicing based on contractual terms and sales data
3. Provide necessary documentation to support claims and expedite payments
4. Resolve discrepancies and issues related to claims to facilitate timely payment
5. Analyse sales data to identify rebate eligibility and calculate claim amounts
6. Investigate pricing discrepancies and take corrective action
7. Manage alcohol-related claims, cost price anomalies, and provide suppliers with supporting sales data.
8. Serve as the point of contact for alcohol suppliers and relay information to sales representatives and managers
9. Provide bespoke management information reports using Excel
10. Generate sales data reports to provide insights into sales, customer preferences, and product performance
11. Conduct supplier price comparison analysis to support negotiation and decision-making
12. Maintain supplier cost prices on the Ladylodge system and inform the Purchasing Director of any changes
13. Provide resource support to company directors as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
14. Proven experience in business administrative roles in a related field.
15. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
16. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
17. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
18. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
19. Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
20. Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
