Job Description
Based near Lisburn, our client is a successful manufacturing business who are currently on the market for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join the team.
The successful Health & Safety Manager will manage the health and safety function within the plant, working with all business units ensuring that health and safety is a key priority in all areas.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure line managers and other relevant personnel are trained in respect of legislative requirements.
2. Ensure employees can perform their duties in a safe environment, taking direct action to prevent potential accidents or incidents.
3. Analyse statistics to identify underlying trends and patterns.
4. Carry out regular safety audits and risk assessments in all areas and on all machinery and equipment.
5. By continuous improvement aim for an accident-free safe working environment.
6. Keep up to date with developments and ensure company compliance.
Criteria:
1. Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (Nebosh or NVQ) with previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
2. A working knowledge of Health and Safety management improvement systems & techniques.
3. Experience of producing risk assessments and carrying out H&S audits.
4. Previous experience liaising with regulators i.e. HSENI.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is up to £50k depending upon experience. Benefits include pension, excellent holidays, and an early Friday finish.
