Technical Manager – Tree Root Protection

This role fits within our Tree Root Protection team as an external representative for the department, promoting our industry-leading range of products and services to the market. Working with a range of businesses and individuals, this role will be to deliver CPD style seminars to promote our unique application and product while building strong relationships with customers to generate specifications with the support of our internal Engineering team.
As Technical Manager, you will travel throughout the UK visiting a range of companies including Civil Engineers, Contractors, Local Authorities, and Landscape Architects. This role is target-driven with long-term goals to generate specifications and, as a result, gain sales. The individual will be responsible for booking and coordinating their own diary with the assistance of in-house support.
Outside of seminars, this role is the technical support for the department, providing customers with site-specific advice and guidance. This role also requires specification defending and strengthening via relationship building and having a good understanding of competitor products.
This opportunity provides the individual with full product/application training and development opportunities. Full training on our systems and products will be provided. This role is home-based with the individual visiting the office in Hinckley once per week. Seminars are carried out face-to-face and via Teams depending on the customers’ needs, so a full UK driving licence is required for this role.
Key responsibilities:
* Achieve site visit targets
* Discover and establish new specifications and identify potential projects
* Achieve personal and department targets
* Increase Company Brand awareness within Construction/Civil Engineering sectors
* Pre- and post-site advice, visits, and assistance
* Work effectively within the team to ensure market-leading standards of customer care
* Maintain and update CRM system
* Assist with the implementation of department sales and marketing strategies
* Develop new and existing targeted accounts
Requirements of the role:
* Minimum of 2 years presenting externally
* Experience in gaining and defending specifications
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Willing to travel throughout the UK with nights away
* Understand and work in line with the Geosynthetics Limited business plan
* Experience in customer relations
* Computer literate with good IT skills
Preferable but not essential:
* Knowledge of the construction industry
* Experience in practical arboriculture (not essential)
* Experience working within an Arboriculture consultancy with specific knowledge of BS5837 would be preferable
* An understanding of trees in relation to planning
* An understanding of no dig/minimal dig construction within root protection areas
