Their premises at Morley comprises of offices and meeting rooms, laboratories and analysis workrooms. Job Description: Purpose: Support clients in materials consultancy and testing. Strengthen current client relationships and establish new relationships to increase usefulness of our services and grow the business. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Receive enquiries from clients or prospective clients by phone call or email and engage efficiently and professionally to fully understand their requirements. Issue scope of work, associated costs and estimated turnaround times within 24 hours. Perform a wide range of investigations into materials-related problems, encompassing predominantly metallic materials, but regular inclusion of non-metallics, for a variety of clients in automotive, manufacturing, legal, and rail. Investigate material’s failures, including fractures, corrosion, wear, and other modes of degradation. Project manage all aspects of an investigation from start to finish including quotation, initial examination, sectioning, internal testing, analysis and examination, photography, subcontract work, remote or in person meetings, reviewing specifications and other literature and issuing technical reports. Undertaking investigations within the laboratory plus undertaking site inspections and testing as required. Provision of clear and concise reports on investigations carried out that can be used in court if required. Provide advice to clients on solutions to issues investigated. Support colleagues and share knowledge. Build outstanding relationships with clients and network with potential clients. Provide marketing team with training and ideas of growth areas as well as content to be used for blogs, whitepapers, or social media. Support sales team with training and ideas of growth areas as well as support in meetings Qualifications, skills and experience Qualified to Degree level or equivalent, in a materials-based discipline, or be able to demonstrate knowledge by experience Have an excellent record in failure investigation and problem solving Have a strong ability in report writing Have excellent communication skills digitally and in person A combination of academic and practical engineering ability; the role requires a ‘hands-on’ approach in the use of basic workshop and metallurgy laboratory tools, equipment, and machinery in sectioning and other sample preparation A full, valid driving licence
