Berkshire Healthcare are seeking an organized and motivated candidate for Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant role in the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Outpatient team. This a part time post based at Upton Hospital in Slough (there may be some flexibility to increase this to full time and can be discussed at interview).
Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience in this role or in healthcare but this is not essential. This job would be particularly well suited to applicants with a background in sports and exercise, with experience of delivering exercise and manual therapy. We will provide in-house training to develop the necessary competencies and mentoring to upskill the successful candidate.
Our Therapy Assistants are highly valued members of our clinical team who help us to deliver excellent care and rehabilitation to an extremely varied cohort of patients. You will be closely supported by the team which, depending on location, is compromised of Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Assistants and Administrators.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit someone who can contribute to the positive culture of our team, engage with staff and patients respectfully, and conduct their work in a professional manner. The role will encompass:
1. Assisting the physiotherapists in the delivery of individual and group exercise programmes. This may involve delivering exercise sessions, hands on therapies such as massage, and patient education. Training is provided in any of the modalities used. All patients are initially assessed by the physiotherapist.
2. Ensuring stock and equipment levels are maintained and re-ordered on a regular basis and that equipment is well maintained and clean in line with infection control guidelines.
3. Carrying own caseload of patients with simple predictable conditions, as delegated by the therapist.
4. Assisting in the administrative duties of the physiotherapy service when required, including reception duties, data inputting, photocopying, assisting with audits and completing patient records.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications/Training
* Educated to GCSE level, passes in Maths and English/equivalent qualifications or relevant experience
* Basic Knowledge of Human Anatomy
* NVQ 2 or equivalent
* The ability to communicate in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi or Polish
