Abbeyfield Living Society have a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Care Manager at the Hope Bank View Extra Care service.
The Home: Hope Bank View is an Extra Care setting based in the area of Silksworth, Sunderland, which was built in 2017 and is run from the Abbeyfield independent living complex.
This is a great opportunity for a Home Manager with experience in Domiciliary or Supported Living services to join an Extra Care setting. Best of all, we’re a charity, meaning that the interests of our valued staff and residents sit at the heart of what we do, not shareholders.

Salary: up to £40,000 per annum
The Role of Registered Care Manager
1. Lead and manage sustainable independent living with registered care services for elderly residents, in compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, and Abbeyfield’s mission and values.
2. Lead the delivery of high-quality independent living with care provision, meeting CQC, Housing and Quality requirements, ensuring residents are treated with respect and dignity, and lead fulfilling lives.
3. Provide effective management of staff, ensuring engagement, capacity and capability.
4. Contribute to budget setting and be accountable for meeting pre-agreed revenue, cost, and surplus budgetary targets. Lead in the promotion of the service to sustain a good reputation in the local community.
5. Ensure active management of risks to maintain compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and policy, ensuring a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
About You
1. Significant experience working at a management level in a similar (ideally elderly care) person-centred care and support role, ideally within a registered care and housing setting.
2. Level 5 Qualification.
3. Knowledge of and ability to apply the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 20, the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009, and the Care Act 2014/15.
4. 12 months of experience leading and managing teams; the ability to manage staff performance, apply formal disciplinary processes, and develop and retain talent.
