Role: Kitchen Assistant

Hours : 20hrs p/w
Pay Rate: £11.44
The Abbeyfield Society is a national charity helping to alleviate loneliness and isolation in older people by providing companionship in our supported housing accommodation, retirement apartments, and care homes.

You can never underestimate the power a friendly face and a home-cooked meal has on someone’s day. This is a varied role, with resident wellbeing at the forefront of what we do.
Responsibilities:
1. Keeping all kitchen and store areas clean and hygienic
2. Managing incoming deliveries and the correct storage of goods
3. Working alongside the Cook to provide healthy meals to our residents
4. Being responsible for the daily use of catering equipment, monitoring usage, and reporting any issues
5. Completing food and drink preparation and transporting prepared food to the relevant dining area to be served.
Ideal Candidate Qualities:
1. A cheerful and friendly demeanour
2. Understanding the needs of older people
3. Organised and proactive
4. Has a Level 3 Food Safety certificate or willing to undertake through Abbeyfield.
