The CYPS Directorate Business Services team supports various services which include Children in Care, Child Protection, Children’s Centres, Children in Need, Early Help and a dedicated Finance team. We currently have 5 vacancies across these teams; therefore, it is a brilliant time to join us and begin your journey with other new colleagues.

We are seeking to appoint suitably experienced individuals, or those that can demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, to join our team. Some of the key skills we are looking for include:
* Experience of working in a professional office setting where you can evidence your administrative skills.
* Strong proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office applications to specifically include Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams.
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work to a high level of accuracy within given timescales.
* Be able to work independently whilst also being an excellent team player.
* Be able to demonstrate excellent customer service.
* Be enthusiastic and self-motivated.
* Have a solution-focused approach to your work with a strong desire to continue your own development.
* Have excellent organisational skills.
It would be desirable if you can demonstrate the ability to produce detailed minutes either from attending in-person meetings or by the use of audio transcripts.

Our substantive office base is Riverside House; however, we also support work at Children Centres and Family Hubs across the locality. We would be particularly pleased to receive applications from anyone who would be interested to work at our Children’s Centre based in Dinnington. This is a front-facing role specifically supporting reception and associated administrative duties. If this is of particular interest to you, please clearly state this in your application.
In accordance with the Rotherham Council Working Location Policy, we currently support hybrid working. For full-time staff, this is a minimum of 3 full working days in an office location; however, the needs of the service are always prioritized.
You should be aware that you will be responsible for processing information of a sensitive and confidential nature relating to child neglect or child abuse cases. Therefore, if successful, you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at the basic level. This post will have access to the Public Services Network. If successful, you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at the Basic level (unspent criminal convictions).

Until 31st March 2026, employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded three additional days leave (pro rata for part-time).
