Experienced Health & Safety Manager required for an Award-winning Manufacturer based in Cornwall. Following a recent acquisition in June 2024, this manufacturer is expanding and continually strengthening their brand within the UK making this the perfect time for an exceptional Health and Safety professional to join the team. This is a pivotal role to the business in ensuring that all H&S policies and procedures are adhered to across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Driving cultural change/reinforcement of good safety practices, creating the forums and opportunities to involve and communicate with employees.
2. Working in conjunction with site management to drive the Safety agenda.
3. Implementing and gaining accreditation of ISO 14001.
4. Advising the board and senior management on safety, health and environmental matters.
5. Setting strategic health and safety objectives and reporting to the board and senior management on company health and safety issues.
6. Undertaking regular company health and safety training needs analysis identifying critical gaps of capability.
7. Conducting regular site audits and inspections, reporting non-compliance and hazardous conditions.
8. Formulating a risk assessment programme across the site.
9. Undertaking health and safety accident and incident investigation.
10. Liaising with company stakeholders regarding safety, health and environmental e.g. Health and Safety Executive, Fire Authorities, insurance companies, local councils and the Environment Agency.
Essential Experience / Qualifications and Attributes Required:
1. NEBOSH Qualified or equivalent.
2. Proven experience working as a Health and Safety Manager within either Engineering or Manufacturing.
3. Excellent communication skills coupled with a forward-thinking approach.
Desirable Experience / Qualifications:
1. IEMA Associate Certificate in Environmental Management.
2. H&S Management experience gained from within food manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
