Summary of the Role
We are looking for a motivated and talented CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity and technical expertise while working on diverse and exciting projects in the marquee, events, and temporary buildings sectors. Whether you’re a recent university graduate or have gained equivalent experience through alternative pathways, this position offers a fantastic chance to grow and develop your career in design using modular buildings. This is not a bespoke design and engineering role.
As part of our team, you will collaborate with the sales and projects team to create innovative designs using our pre-engineered modular framework that meet the unique needs of our clients. You’ll play a key role in translating ideas into precise technical drawings and renders. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is eager to contribute fresh perspectives to our creative endeavours.
Key Responsibilities
CAD Design
•Create floor and site plans; 2D and 3D drawings, models, and technical designs based on project specifications and client requirements.
•Rendering: Produce high-quality rendered visualisations, preferably using Enscape.
•3D Components: Manipulate and customise pre-existing 3D components and create new ones to suit project needs (on occasion).
•SketchUp Proficiency: Utilise basic knowledge of SketchUp for specific design tasks.
•Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to industry standards.
•Perform detailed checks to ensure all designs align with project specifications and regulatory guidelines
Documentation
•Maintain organised records of all designs, drawings, and related documents.
•Prepare detailed layouts for project teams and clients.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
•Contribute to the development of innovative solutions that enhance project quality and efficiency.
Problem-Solving / Adaptability
•Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of design outputs.
•Adapt designs to suit varying project scopes and timelines.
•Incorporate best practices to minimise risks in design and construction processes.
Required Skills / Expected Conduct & Behaviours
Proficiency in CAD Software:
•2D drafting and 3D modelling tools like AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp.
• Rendering – Produce high-quality rendering visualisations through the software Enscape
Technical Knowledge:
•Understanding of basic construction methods, or manufacturing processes.
•Familiarity with relevant industry standards and practices.
File Management and Collaboration Tools:
•Experience with tools such as cloud-based collaboration platforms.
Computer Skills:
•Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and file conversion processes
Collaboration
•Work closely with sales, marketing, and project managers to ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, and technical requirements.
•Participate in design meetings to understand project goals and provide input on feasibility and improvements.
Preferred Qualifications (not essential)
Diploma, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s Degree or working towards in a relevant field such as:
•Computer-Aided Design
•Architecture
•Industrial Design
Certification in CAD software:
•AutoCAD Certification
•Revit Certification
Location
The role will be based at Fews Head Office. No public transport is nearby so a car is recommended.
Notes:

You will be expected to perform all duties in the context of and in compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures. Induction training will be provided to ensure full understanding of these Policies and procedures.

Core working hours: Standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday. Availability to work longer days and weekends is an integral part of the job, particularly during peak season May to September when hours are longer.
Holiday allowance: 28 days including bank holidays. Maximum 1 week holiday allowance to be taken in the peak season (excluding bank holidays). Balance of holiday allowance to be taken off peak.
