About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity available for a Governance & Business Support Consultant to join our Sales & Agency Division at NFU Mutual. In this role, you'll play a vital part in managing the operational impacts resulting from changes in the Agency Network. You'll be responsible for screening new Agents to ensure they meet the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) Fit & Proper test, qualifying them to become an Appointed Representative (AR) and an Approved Person (APER) for NFU Mutual. You'll also conduct the on-going good repute and financial soundness processes where you will critically review and gain an understanding of the current and future financial position of all Agents and their businesses to ensure all Agents continue to meet the FCA’s regulatory requirements. Additionally, you'll review and coordinate the financial support provided to Agents as well as ensuring the production and organisation of key contractual documentation. Effective communication with a broad range of stakeholders, including reporting, is another key responsibility, as well as ensuring that Agency data is consistently updated across all systems. Furthermore, you'll provide specialist advice on departmental operational practices and processes relevant to the development of the Agency Network and suggest and deliver process improvements. This role also requires you to compile, submit, and analyse financial, regulatory, and contractual data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.About youAs a Governance & Business Support Consultant, you'll excel in customer focus, ensuring that your customer needs are always met with precision and care. Your attention to detail is key to help ensure that every aspect of work is meticulously handled, while your great communication skills will facilitate clear and effective interactions with your customers and stakeholders alike. You'll have strong financial acumen, enabling you to meticulously review and critically analyse a wide range of financial information. This includes, but is not limited to, business bank accounts, financial statements, and assessing cash flow projections. You'll support our team in driving innovative solutions. Your decision-making skills will help navigate complex situations, while always maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency. As well as the above you’ll: Manage and report on the good repute and ongoing financial soundness processes. Evaluate new Agent’s financial submissions and analyse screening checks during the new Agent onboarding process. Coordinate and communicate effectively with new Agents, the FCA, our screening provider and key business stakeholders.
