Your role and responsibilities You'll be a part of the team in Children and Young People's services (CYP) that provides Personal Assistant (PA) Support services to the directorate's senior management team. You'll be part of a team that provides PA support to senior managers and Councillors within CYP. This includes Cabinet Members, the Director of Children's Services, Assistant Directors, and Head of Service. Your main role will be supporting the two CYP Cabinet Members. You'll oversee: Diary management, correspondence and meeting and travel arrangements. Working with the CYP Business and Information Manager, you'll help develop new policies, processes and technologies that help improve the PA support function within CYP. We have a great team and we're really excited for you to join us as an Executive PA You will need high quality communication and numerical skills experience of working at Executive PA level experience of working with senior leaders and Councillors an understanding of working at the staff/politician interface in a local government environment fluent skills in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) experience of using Teams and SharePoint, or equivalent technologies a willingness to learn, even if you don't have all the technical expertise yet transferrable skills (such as managing small/medium projects). The team The CYP Business Services team provides Executive PA and PA support services to Councillors, the Director of CYP, Assistant Directors and Heads of Service. Our team adds up to more than the sum of its parts. Everyone brings their own individual set of skills and knowledge to the team, and members are keen to learn from others so that we can support one another. The team collaborates on many projects, such as the introduction of new technology, and team members are given autonomy to lead pieces of work where they are the subject matter experts. Working in the team is rewarding. We work hard but also operate in a friendly environment that encourages staff wellbeing and growth. You'll get the opportunity to work with other teams on a day-to-day level, as well as on longer term projects. We operate a hybrid style of working, with some days in the office and others at home. Face to face team meetings are usually on a Thursday, with face to face supervisions held on Thursdays, or flexibly according to staff working patterns.
