Office Angels have teamed up with a forward-thinking client in the education industry who is looking to recruit a Management Accountant. You will join an established team of hardworking individuals with excellent communication skills who enjoy developing within this company and sector.
The day-to-day duties in your new job will include:
1. Leading and managing the Finance Department to ensure an effective and efficient support team.
2. Preparing financial reports and returns and the monthly management accounts for review by the Director of Finance and subsequent consideration by the Senior Management Team and Governors.
3. Ensuring compliance with internal controls and Financial Regulations while developing efficient internal systems and processes that minimize waste and duplication and enhance customer service.
4. Providing regular, timely online real-time monitoring reports to all budget holders and assisting them in interpreting the information as needed.
5. Managing the budgeting process and implementing budgetary controls.
6. Preparing statutory accounts.
7. Ensuring that all external financial statements are prepared to the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and compliance, acting as the primary point of contact for financial auditors, internal auditors, and other financial consultants.
8. Producing necessary returns to relevant governmental and funding bodies.
9. Producing management information for the Senior Management Team as required.
10. Managing day-to-day treasury management in line with policies and procedures.
11. Overseeing all functions within the Finance department, including sales ledger and credit control, purchase ledger and supplier payments, banking and cash, with responsibility for payroll checks (the payroll function being administered in HR).
12. Playing a key role in developing, implementing, and reviewing all aspects of the College's financial, accounting, departmental budgets, management, and reporting.
13. Handling taxation issues, including VAT under a partial exemption regime and statutory payroll returns.
14. Undertaking duties appropriate and required by an Operational Manager.
15. Performing any other duties as delegated by the Director of Finance from time to time.
