About this opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in our Bristol based External Reporting Team. The team is responsible for the coordination, production and analysis of the Annual Report and Accounts, as well as various other statutory returns and disclosures, for Lloyds Banking Group and its principal entities on an individual and consolidated basis. We also support a broad range of reporting projects and operational improvements.
The role is right at the very centre of the Group and involves working closely with teams from LBG’s many and varied lines of business including Group Planning & Reporting, Group Corporate Treasury, and Group Tax for insight and analysis in the production of our deliverables.
The team is part of Central Finance and comprises approximately 20 colleagues across both London and Bristol. Our work forms the financial basis of the Annual Report and Accounts published and released to the markets each year. We also produce LBG's quarterly news releases and regulatory information reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the United States and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) in the UK alongside other external reporting.
Shareholders and regulators alike rely on our externally reported numbers to assess risks and make key decisions and it is our job to make sure that they have the most accurate and reliable data possible.

Key responsibilities
* Supporting in the production of the Group’s and its principal subsidiaries’ annual report and accounts, in addition to preparation of various schedules in the Group’s 20F submission to the SEC and several reports to the PRA.
* Proactively building and maintaining positive relationships with a wide variety of partners across the group, working closely with them to understand financial performance and key issues. Provide support and mentorship on the group reporting process where needed.
* Supporting other teams within External Reporting and Accounting Policy, including contribution to key projects.
* Supporting the team and the Finance Platforms as we set out to transform our consolidation systems.
What you’ll need
* Management and/or Statutory Reporting experience at a divisional, legal entity or Group level.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles gained either through ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other similar accounting qualifications.
* Growth mindset, with enthusiastic and optimistic pursuit of continuous improvement, and a drive for making reporting processes simpler, more efficient, and better controlled.
* A highly inquisitive approach, with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing financial information.
* Previous experience of SAP, Wdesk and Planning Analytics will be beneficial.
