Male Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a 61-year-old man living at home who has a severe physical disability (Multiple Sclerosis).
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance, including attending to personal care and participation with social activities.
Your duties would involve: -
· Assistance with Personal Care needs, (moving and assisting on and off the toilet).
· Assistance on days out to the pub or walks.
· General exercise, such as stretching and helping on a power bike exerciser.
· Moving and assisting in and out of a mobility car.
· Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living and wellbeing.
Must take a pro-active approach to support and encourage individual to be involved and activities that suit their needs. The most important qualities would be a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring roll.
Experience with caring for someone with severe MS would be a benefit.
There is a small dog in the home so pet friendly would be an advantage.
Essential Criteria
Clean Full UK driving licence – you would be required to drive a mobility vehicle.
Good communication skills
Caring friendly manner.
Clear understanding of the English Language.
Desirable Criteria
Moving and handling experience working with someone with MS is preferred but not essential, as training will be given.
Hours of work
20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, afternoons 1pm – 5pm (with a degree of flexibility), occasional weekends may be required, this would be discussed at interview.
Recruiting for one position
Guaranteed permanent position of up to 20 hours per week.
Hourly Rate - £12.00 per hour
