The Role
As an experienced Music Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering a diverse and engaging music curriculum. You will help students develop their skills in various areas of music, including performance, composition, and music theory. Your role will involve inspiring students to express themselves creatively through music, while maintaining high academic and performance standards within the department.
Key Responsibilities
* Teaching and Delivering Lessons: Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring all students are challenged and supported in their musical development.
* Fostering Musical Talent: Encourage students to explore various musical genres, techniques, and instruments, helping them develop their technical skills and creativity.
* Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their musical abilities, both in performance and theory.
* Mentorship: Guide and support students, particularly those pursuing GCSE Music, helping them with exam preparation, compositions, and performances.
* Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the Music Department to share ideas, resources, and best practices, ensuring consistency and high standards across the curriculum.
* Extra-Curricular Activities: Lead and support extra-curricular music initiatives, including school concerts, choirs, bands, and other music-related activities, providing students with opportunities to showcase their talents and further develop their skills.
What We Are Looking For
* Qualifications: A degree in Music or a related subject, along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification.
* Experience: Significant experience teaching Music at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes for students.
* Passion for Music: A deep passion for music and a desire to inspire students to develop their musical creativity and technical skills.
* Strong Leadership Skills: The ability to motivate and guide students, particularly in performance-based settings, while maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment.
