To be a part of the team they will expect you to be committed to their values too. The Role In this rewarding role you will act as an Emotional Available Adult (EAA) for our learners. By providing mentoring and coaching to ensure vulnerable students have a high-quality experience in college, are fully included in the College community and are not disadvantaged in comparison to their peers. You will build solid working alliances, to provide psychological safety to our learners. As a Wellbeing Mentor you will support students who present with mental health and wellbeing issues, including signposting or referral to support. You will develop relationships which allow learners to have access to an emotionally available adult and deliver Trauma Informed Practice, working with the learners to develop skills and techniques to manage behaviour and allow engagement in learning. In it so important to offer effective support to transition new students, and retain students throughout the academic year, working closely with academic teaching staff who make referrals for their learners to ensure the best opportunities are available for all of our learners to succeed. Skills and Qualifications You will have experience within education, in a support, mentor or counselling role working with young adults. You will have a Level 2 Guidance/Counselling qualification and hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake). It would be advantageous to hold a Level 3 Safeguarding qualification also.
