Home, a place where you belong
We are looking for experienced support workers to work with our brilliant customers in Kent, all of whom have complex needs and challenging behaviours. Living across Gravesend, you will support our wonderful customers, helping them live fulfilling lives within their own homes as well as within the local community.
You will work together as a team using our positive behaviour support model, promoting independence and social inclusion through person-centred support. Monitoring mental and physical health and recognising their strengths and abilities to help them take small steps at their pace, whilst never losing sight of their dreams and aspirations.
You will go home each day knowing that you have helped change our customers' lives for the better, working for one of the Top Ten Great Places to Work in the UK!
You Have
* Experience in a complex care setting, with a level 2 Diploma in Adult Health and Social Care or are prepared to work towards it.
* Worked as a Support Worker, supporting people with complex needs, or behaviours of distress.
* A patient and calm approach, able to adapt your style to their needs, as well as the specific occasion and circumstances, even when they challenge us.
* Experience of positive risk management, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of customers and colleagues.
* The ability to drive a vehicle. Due to some of the customers’ needs, you may need to drive an automatic car.
Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review.
* You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team of Support Workers and Team Leaders who are all passionate about being there for our customers.
* You’ll take your turn with your team working on a rota. Shifts available include days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays or waking nights. You may also be required to do sleep-ins, in which an enhancement will be paid.
* You’ll work primarily with customers in their own home, as well as supporting them in the community. You will be allocated to one customer but there may be opportunities to work with our other customers in Kent when cover is required.
* We’ll make sure you have a fantastic induction with ongoing learning support.
* Ability to use technology to update and create support plans, communicate with colleagues, and complete online learning.
* You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done – we pay for that.
