We are currently looking for a laboratory technician to efficiently and effectively sample and test construction material products. To conduct onsite and offsite materials testing and update electronic records.
Key Responsibilities
To test and sample concrete, mortar and aggregates. Testing will be carried out in a safe and efficient manner, both on site and in the laboratory. To maintain a safe and tidy workspace and ensure the efficient running of the laboratory To maintain quality standards by following Company and accrediting bodies quality procedures and protocol.To record sample details on test record sheets and laboratory software.To prepare for inspections from independent accrediting bodiesTo investigate all material related complaints & provide suitable & sufficient feedback & evidence to support.To provide technical cover for other contracts within UK & Ireland.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Educated to minimum standard of GCSE Maths, English, Science Experience working within a similar role and/or within the construction industry is desirable but not essentialExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including ExcelExperience of working with recognised accreditation standards, ie BSI, UKAS is desirable but not essentialUnderstand and have knowledge of all current UK (BS EN) standards is desirable but not essentialExperience of working in a team environment, providing information and support to colleaguesAbility to be flexible in working hours, working night shifts or weekends if requiredDriving licence to enable the post holder to fulfil the duties of the role
