Key Responsibilities Operational and Performance Management In conjunction with the COO and Group Management Teams: Lead on all aspects of safe, effective and responsive operations at UHCW, with a priority focus on achievement and sustainability of key access and performance standards in particular the delivery of elective and cancer standards. Ensure that the operational delivery of services complies fully with the NHSE expectations, CQC standards, key national guidance and requirements as determined by other / external regulatory bodies. Lead on the Trusts Outpatient and Theatres productivity programme ensuring an effective use of resource and supporting the Clinical Groups to achieve financial sustainability. Play a key role in the Corporate Directors Group. Take a lead on addressing day to day patient flow issues across both hospital sites in partnership with the Deputy Chief Operating Officer for Urgent and Emergency Care. Ensure that operational and assurance processes are in place for the delivery of clinical services and the management of clinical risk and health care governance within and across the site. Establish, lead, maintain and develop effective working relationships with all professional groups working in the group management teams and across the wider Trust Strategy Work with the Chief Operating Officer and the wider Executive Team, particularly in bringing an operational perspective to the development of the Trusts strategic direction in relation to the provision of healthcare, teaching and research. Work closely with the Director of Estates and facilities and the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer to contribute to the plan for the capital requirements, considering at all times the strategic plans for the groups and the Trust. Identify and lead on implementation of key operational and business development activities.
